SPAR wanted a new summer promo to encourage customers to increase their basket size and visit more often.

Corner shops are always there with an ice-cream or cold bottle of wine to save you from the sweltering summer heat. These chilled moments are simple, sweet, and memorable. Let’s use that sentiment and offer customers a chance to win everything they need to create memorable moments this summer.

With everything from quick instant wins (ice-lollies, drinks, and digital summer recipes), to SPAR prize moments (filled beach bags, BBQ kits, picnic hampers, and your own personal ice-cream van to follow you around), we wanted to reward their spontaneous behavior and treat them for coming back in store and shopping with us. Over the summer period, every shop over £5 will give customers a receipt code to add online to their facebook-linked account. Every code unlocking another portion of the ice-lolly, so the more you shop, the more chances you have to win the big prize draw!

To further amplify the awareness of SPAR’s own brand products we could even push their own summer essentials and highlight key products each week.

We could even produce a SPAR own brand ice-lolly with a special code printed on the stick. So after customers enjoy their free ice-lolly, they can head to the microsite and try their luck with their extra code, no matter how much they spend!

Everyone loves to post what they’re up to on social media, and the last thing anyone wants to do is leave a gathering to top up the wine, beer or hamburger buns. Using Twitter, we’ll create the opportunity for SPAR to swoop in and save the day. People can tag SPAR in their moment of need, and SPAR will select a few lucky people and deliver the items needed to keep the party going and the summer moment alive.
